He may be an experienced press photographer, Cyril Zannettacci never imagined being able to take this photo, in broad daylight, of the almost empty Place de la Concorde in Paris. Day after day, he photographs the capital and its neighborhoods deserted since the beginning of the confinement against the Covid-19. The Tuileries Garden, the National Library of France … even the ring road is deserted. Before the National Assembly, he offers himself a little luxury by placing his lens in the middle of the road. “It feels like we have Paris to us”, he confides.
A feeling shared by Bruno Lévy when he crosses Montmartre. The Place du Tertre, this journalist had not taken a photo for a long time, too touristy. In the midst of a health crisis, it is a Paris in suspended time that offers itself to photographers. “We have the impression of finding something photographic in Paris”, he explains.
