It is a feat that only China can do. Wuhan's second prefab hospital is about to open. More than 6,000 workers worked 11 days a day, 24 hours a day. The whole city was the foot of the war. A stadium was requisitioned by the army, which installed beds as far as the eye could see. There is also a convention center which, refurbished one night, can accommodate 3,400 patients.
In 2003, China had already built a hospital in Beijing within a week. On this same site, the quarantine zone is rebuilt by workers called in emergency. They work more than ten hours a day and have made provisions because all the restaurants around are closed. “I'm very proud. My job is to help my homeland and my people“says a truck driver. The opening date of this hospital will depend on the development of the epidemic and the peak of contagion, which should be reached next week.
