The resuscitation department of the Angers university hospital in Maine-et-Loire has around fifteen patients with Covid-19, and 20 others are under surveillance. A patient is in respiratory distress. She just spent her first night in the hospital. “The cough has gotten worse, causing pain in the lungs. I'm obviously worried about what is going to happen”, indicates the patient.
Her 20-year-old daughter, also ill, was put on oxygen for a few hours in the emergency room before recovering. The intensive care unit went from 6 to 15 patients in just a few hours. “Our sample is large. The oldest woman is 87 years old, the youngest is 38 years old”, explains Dr Julien Demiselle, resuscitation doctor at Angers University Hospital. The state of the 38 year old man is worrying, it is necessary to alleviate his suffering.
