Since the implementation of containment measures in France, food banks must reorganize to ensure the delivery of food to associations. “The situation is tense. We have food, but we lack volunteers, both in food banks and associations that distribute food”, explains Jacques Bailet, president of the French Federation of Food Banks, who is also calling for volunteers.
“We need people to sort, to possibly handle or enter data. Anyone can do it”, assures Jacques Bailet. FFBA “needs people who are under 70 years old. It's a great moment of solidarity”. It is therefore a paradox, foodstuffs are present, but there is a lack of manpower to redistribute them.
