In Saint-Julien-en-Saint-Alban (Ardeche), even the light of day was struggling to break, Friday, November 15 in the afternoon. Not enough to cheer up the 1,500 inhabitants already struggling for 24 hours. “It is a hassle”, deplores a resident deprived of electricity. Thursday, November 14 evening, a neighborhood was evacuated by decision of the mayor after the damage of a high-voltage power line.
“A branch had to fall on the electric cable, from then on, there were electric arcs that frightened the population”says Julien Fougeirol, the mayor of the town. 90% of households are without electricity in the village. The information arrives very difficult. In the park, not a tree was spared. The snow made the branches bend. In Saint-Julien-en-Saint-Alban, children are deprived of school until electricity is returned.
